“A plane was reported as flying low over the Hudson River — FAA officials say a photo-shoot was taking place and there is no cause for alarm.”

This is a great resource - congrats Nora!
Finally!

I’ve been working at the CUNY Building Performance Lab for two years and have gotten a lot of blank stares when I explain what we do — improve the energy efficiency of NYC’s commercial buildings through a number of programs. (People usually think of green buildings as new construction — frankly, no new building is going to save the world. It’s improving what we’ve got that’ll make the...

happycap:
The first seven minutes of The Brothers Bloom, with a short introduction by writer / director Rian Johnson, via hulu. The film opens in select cities on May 15 with a wider release on May 29. I’m looking forward to checking it out. That one-legged cat is brilliant.
I’m stoked to see this. And, yes that one-legged cat is pretty amazing.
Fortune
You are kind and broad-minded.

Tea and Brilliance...

what an incredible quote. i really really love it.
"Do you think Tracy drinks beer?"
noraleah:
Andrea asked me while she was doing Tracy’s Mat DVD yesterday.
“I doubt it,” I said. “If she drinks at all, it’s proably one glass of wine or a low-calorie cocktail, like vodka and soda.”
Let me revise that: after reading the W article, I’m pretty certain she never drinks at all (but I’ll ask her on Sunday!).
Okay, so alcohol’s out … but “Tracy’s Green Juice” is in! From W…

Thrift can take lasting hold of a consumer society, to disastrous effect.
– The New York Times
I keep reading about how saving is the worst thing for the economy. The New York Times article from which the above quote is taken described Japanese savers as “dead weight.” The underlying assumption is that we must consume more and more to keep the economy growing. People...
